Holme Fen – Meadows
The Meadows opens on 13th March with all available spaces quickly filling up. We have been adding a little supplementary feed , a mixture of boilies and pellet, over the last month to encourage the fish to start moving around searching out food items. If the weather continues to warm up there is a very good chance of some big fish seeing the bank early on?
Holme Fen – Poachers Pool
We have had a couple of prize winning sessions on Poachers Pool prior to official opening on 13th March with some great results. Nigel Mitchell fished the Takeaway on a stormy midweek session banking three at 16-12, 27-02 and a PB at 30-01 using PCF Cocofruit. A few days later Ollie Peacock fished a 48hr in the Pipe swim also catching a PB at 35-01 plus others of 23-05, 21 and 4 mid doubles, all caught on HFF Relish boilies. Poachers Pool is currently providing excellent early session sport and provides an excellent opportunity to catch an early Spring Thirty pounder. Woodpecker has started to respond to the introduction of a bit of bait with several fish being caught this week from all over the lake. Andy’s swim done three including two mid-thirties and a 22. Jess had a 24 from the Mossie, Lee banked a 26lb Common from the boat swim which had not seen the bank since mid 2014 and Ian had a lovely 28-07 in full winter colours from the stock pond swim caught on PCF Cocofruit.
The Trout Lake syndicate
Fishing started on this new syndicate on the first of March with a number of anglers exploring the lake on their first visit. Whilst fishing was a little slow, four fish saw the bank with Lee Rayner catching the best at just over 24lb. A few days later Ivan Woodrow fished in Swim 10 and found a clear area next to an old weed bed and banked 3 fish during a 48 hour session including an original Common at 34lb 4oz. Last few midweek syndicate tickets available from www.earithlakes.com
Abbey Lake opens for business at the end of March and things are looking good for our first group bookings. Justin Webb did a couple of nights after a work party session spent clearing branches blown down by Storm Doris and bagged 7 fish including 6 twenties to 26lb plus on PCF Nut Job boilies.
Willow Lake at Fenland Fisheries is now open with the first few days producing some nice fish including a lovely 34lb mirror for David Lamb. To book your trip to Willow Lake phone the onsite shop on 01487 841 858.
