Most of our fisheries are mow open again after a winter break and whilst results have been mixed some really nice fish have been caught. On The Meadows at Holme Fen Fishery it has been generally hard going but a few big fish have made an appearance, including Captain Jack which was caught by Zack Barrett at a new lake record of 60lb 2oz!

Jason Lawler landed a 43lb Mirror from Four Strong Winds using the Holme Fen house bait PCF Relish and Garry Mortimer banked three fish from the pump hole on PCF Ghost boilies with the best fish weighing 38lb 8oz. Team PCF main man Carl Sharp suffered some awful weather but still managed a 38lb 6oz mirror on one of our newly created Twisted Orange pop-ups fished over a bed of Coco Fruit chops.

The Meadows is booking up very quickly with only a few midweek slots available this side of June. These slots can be secured by visiting the on-line booking system at

Poachers Pool on the same complex is fishing reasonably well with some really nice fish being banked. Andrew Bryanton fished the pipe swim and banked three to 31-04 .Scott Gillatt had two fish to 26-07 and Lewis Mulholland landed five fish to 31lb 8oz using the Holme Fen Mix (aka The Relish) Poachers Pool is also available to book at for a maximum of three anglers.

Abbey Lake is now open and the first week has produced some outstanding fishing with Tobias Ward and his mate banking 8 fish to mid twenties and then Dave Weldings group banking 18 fish which included 13 twenties and a new PB for Dave at 33lb after heavily baiting with PCF Coco Fruit boilies .

Willow Lake at Fenland Fisheries is now open and fishing consistently well, more from this venue in my next report.

Vermuyden Lake which is also on the Fenland Fisheries complex is providing some great sport for visiting anglers with lots of doubles and twenties gracing the bank, young Team PCF member Henry Berridge banked eight in one session to over twenty pounds and Terry Holmes took his son and daughter for a short session and they caught 14 Carp up to 26lbs 8oz using the PCF Pickled Krill, with Terry’s son Finley aged 6 catching his first ever twenty at 20lb 8oz , his daughter Leah aged 10 also upped her PB with a lovely 17lb common, now that’s what it’s all about !

Woodpecker Lake at Earith Lakes Fisheries continues to produce the goods for its syndicate members with new and old members enjoying some good fishing, highlighted by Nobby who had his forth Woodpecker fish over 30lb since January and followed it up with Patricia at 41lb 15oz.
