This mature 15 acre flooded gravel pit was excavated in the 1960’s and was, until recently, managed as a trout fishery with its carp stocks left untouched in the rich aquatic environment.

Woodpecker lake is run as an exclusive syndicate offering full week, weekday only and winter membership options. The original stocking of carp (estimated to be 80 or so fish, a lot of which were commons now going to mid 30’s) have been supplemented each year since 2011 with Premium Carp mirrors from our onsite stock ponds. Woodpecker lake now boasts a stock of around 130 fish, with 22 known to have gone over 30lb and a current lake record of 40lb 2oz. Swims are cut into the large beds of Norfolk reed and between the mature trees which characterise the lake, creating sanctuary and peaceful surrounding from which to fish.
